Therapy Approach & The Practice

Therapy Approach & The Practice ✷

Rooted in Connection

I strive to be the kind of therapist who listens with her whole heart, someone who shows up with presence, warmth, humility, and deep respect for your lived experience.

I believe therapy is a sacred space for radical authenticity, deep connection, and the kind of everyday magic that happens when two humans show up fully, just as they are.

Behind the Name:
Coral Lotus People

The name Coral Lotus People holds deep meaning for me. It reflects color, culture, lineage, and collective becoming.

Coral

I’ve been drawn to coral for years. It’s a color that balances being vibrant and soft, alive yet calming. That’s exactly how I view the healing process, as a space that holds room for both vitality and rest, where you can find both energy and grounding.

 Lotus

In Buddhist thought, the lotus grows from the mud, rooted in messiness yet emerging in beauty and strength. Like the lotus, our stories often carry both struggle and resilience. As Thích Nhất Hạnh said, “No mud, no lotus.”

 People

This reflects the collective we belong to. We are a new people, creating new cultures, new stories, new art forms, and new ways of being.

“The world is a very small place and people like you are now being born every day. How exciting! You are a new people. New people must have new stories, new cultures, and new art forms. You must take the things I give you and make them your own.”

— Master Shiro Nomura, to his multiracial apprentice, Brenda Wong Aoki

Coral Lotus People Counseling is my offering to this vision, a space for the new people, blooming like the lotus, infused with the vibrant warmth of coral.

Who Finds a Home Here

You do not have to fit into a neat, clinical box to sit across from me. My practice is intentionally designed for the complex and multilayered.

I specialize in working with:

Bicultural & Multiracial Folks

Americans, BIPOC, and global majority individuals who find themselves navigating the heavy, complex tension of walking between worlds.

First-Gen & Third-Culture Individuals

Specifically those who feel the pressure to assimilate into dominant culture, untangle complex family enmeshment, or define belonging on their own terms.

Queer Folks & Allies

LGBTQ+ individuals looking for an affirming, protective space where identity is celebrated, not just tolerated.

Millennials, Gen-Z, Students, Helping Professionals

Natural caretakers, therapists, educators, and creatives who are exhausted from holding it all together for everyone else.

Creatives, Thinkers, & Neurodivergent Minds

Eclectic souls, highly sensitive people, or ADHDers who naturally process the world a bit differently and value a non-pathologizing space.

Those Exhausted by Systemic Pressure

Millennials, Gen-Z, students, and helping professionals who are simply done navigating the chronic anxiety and burnout of intersecting systems of oppression.

Those Navigating Major Transitions

Mid-life shifts, identity exploration, career evolution, spiritual expansions, or processing deeper layers of depression while actively healing from a difficult childhood.

An Integrated & Attuned Approach

I offer trauma-informed, culturally responsive therapy and EMDR that honors your whole ecosystem, body, mind, spirit, and environment. Drawing from my work in private practice, community mental health, and career counseling, I provide a collaborative space for those untangling old patterns, exploring identity, or carrying the weight of anxiety, trauma, and systemic stress. Because my practice is deeply holistic, I also offer optional intuitive practices for clients who want to explore deeper layers of insight. We can weave in things like tarot symbolism, ancestral reflection, or decolonial healing to support your personal journey and meaning-making.

A Relational Foundation

Healing is deeply personal, and it doesn't happen in isolation. My approach is rooted in empowerment, self-inquiry, and respect for your unique story. My own life experiences and journey through complex systems and layered identities shape how I show up as a clinician, allowing me to meet you with genuine empathy, warmth, and shared humanity.
