It is common to feel isolated when navigating identity conflicts, especially when it feels taboo to discuss them with coworkers, friends, or family. The reality is that multicultural mental health concerns are highly prevalent, yet finding a safe, attuned space to unpack them can be hard. Grappling with where you fit, or trying to untangle your own beliefs from the ones handed to you, is a completely normal reaction to the competing expectations of dominant society and your culture of origin.

Living with intersecting identities, whether you are a person of color, queer, or navigating multiple cultural worlds, means carrying the weight of unique systemic stressors, daily microaggressions, and the sting of discrimination, however subtle or overt. In a political climate that often weaponizes stereotypes, it is easy to internalize a sense of inferiority that doesn't belong to you. Without realizing it, you may be carrying the weight of larger macrosystemic issues that manifest as a need for specialized depression or anxiety therapy.
